FAQ's

Why is a money market a good option?
A money market account is a type of savings account that typically pays higher interest than a basic savings rate. And like a savings account, you still have access to your money.

What’s the difference between a Money Market and a CD?
While both money market accounts and CDs (Certificates of Deposit) often offer higher interest than traditional savings accounts, they work in different ways. CDs have a specific maturity date (from three months to five years), with a stated interest rate. Typically, a CD assesses a penalty for early withdrawal prior to the CD maturity date. Money market accounts provide access to your savings and offer a tiered-account structure.

What will I need to open a Money Market Account?

You’ll need:

  1. Your social security number
  2. A government issued ID
  3. Funds - we require a minimum $10,000 opening deposit of new money (money not already on deposit with us)

What does FDIC insured mean?
The FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) protects you against the loss of your insured deposits up to $250,000 per depositor per bank.
